FIGHTING IN CITY STREETS. MANY BUILDINGS SHELLED. FEELING AGAINST AMERICANS. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Mexico City, February 13, The Federals began an attack on the rebels at daylight. The artillery shelled numerous. lino buildings, which were totally destroyed. Shells aro falling everywhere in v tho streets, and many persons have been tilled. Particulars of tho fighting ore not obtainable, though tho cable representatives aro sticking to their posts, despite a rain of bullets.
Anti-American feeling broke out at Acapulco, where assaults were made on Amorioan officers belonging to tho cruiser Denver. Conditions throughout Mexico, resemble those in Paris during tho Commune, except that tho populace is not partaking in the lighting. .
INTERVENTION A LAST RESORT. (Rec. February B, 9.35 p.m.) Washington, February 13. President Taft is determined to avoid intervention in Mexico City, except as a last extremity.
More, battleships have been ordered to Iw hold in readiness to depart to Mexican waters, and tho commanders have been ordered to land forces in any ports' where Americans aro. needing aid, but not to ponetrato to tho interior towns.:'
Mr. Knox, Secretary for State, believes that there would be a great loss of American lives if an expedition was dispatched in conssquonco of thq hostility towards Americans.

General Felix Diaz, the leader of the insurgents, demanded the surrender of President Madero after a day of strenuous street fighting.
