TRACK GALLOPS AT WINGATUU . (By Telegraph—Press Association.) . Dunedin, February 13. Very little fast work has taken place at Wingatui yet owing to the hard nature of the track. Heavy rain to-day was much welcomed by trainers. Proceedings this morning commenced with Silver Dirk being schooled oVer hurdlesi. Daringdalc cantered on tho grass and Sister Radius received , slow pacing over a circuit on. the plough. Tho lilly. lias been showing signs of shin soreness,' and has been treated to a. inild blister. .
Triumphator and Parable broke away at the mile and a quarter post and picked up' Lupulite shortly after entering tho back stretch. The'last-named, however, did not assist to pace: as he ran behind the others until reaching the fo.nr-furlong post, where Eidelforin- also . joined. . ,A furlong later Triumphator dropped out and the remaining trio continued at a sound- pace. Parable ran out tho last niilo in lmin. 49sec., tho first half taking 54;ec.
Aphago moved a bit short in her. canter.
Taft (Jarvis) and Golden Clasp (Sparkcs) did a round over the schooling hurdles. The-mare gave a much improved display at the fences and Taft, who has not crossed a hurdlo for some ■ considerable time, also shaped fairly well although he scraped one of his 'stifles.
Gapon and Simon Pure cantered and oame over the last four-furlongs on the outside' of the course proper in 57sec. Both are looking.well and the hurdler has evidently suffered no ill-effects as the result of a fall whilst being schooled last week. ■
; Sartorze occupied lmin. 14sec. in getting 2,ver five furlongs on the outside of the course nroner..
; Sea Maid, Peppin. and JVfnhuri were not ully extended when traversing four ;urlongs together in 54 3-ssec. '
_ Czar Ivolohnl' strode over half a. mile in 53spc. on the plough. St. Aidan and Bnv Luoin were schooled over the hurdles. The former inclined to dwell, but this is only natural as he has not been sent at a fencefor some time.
