. At about 1 o'clock morning, Messrs. A. Mneaskill, L. Williams, and A. Carver, whilst returning' homo from Kaiwarra to Lower Ilutt, met with, an accident. The party were going along the Main Road, and, mistaking the position of the warning lights, the horse fell into an open drain,, and the occupants were thrown to tho ground, receiving some nasty culs. All efforts to get tho horse out of tho drain (which is about seven feet deep) proved futile. The party hit upon tho plan of riuging the fireball. Help was soon at hand, and the animal was got out.
