Ho had not been able to get figures of tho total number of men required, but lie could do with twenty in his own business. lie mentioned that tho labour Department was Bending tin official through tho Dominion gathering information as to the shortage of skilled lnbeur. ' After somo little discussion it was agreed (on tho motion of Sir. D. Robertroll) that Mr. Partridge, Mr. J. P. Luke, and tho secretary (Mr. IT. F, Allen) appear before tho commission as representatives of the association, , .Mr. M. Manthell suggested that members of tho association might bo circularised ns to a suitable date to go beforo the commission. Then, if thev desired, they could givo individual evidence, This suggestion was also adopted.
