MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

At the Magistrate's Court yesterday morning, before Mr. W. G: RiddclK S.M., William Mack was convicted and. sentenced to one month's imprisonment on a charge of deserting from the '■ steamer Turakina. "'
. Goorgo Richard Farley was remanded until .february-12 on a chhrge of assault on a little girl aged 6J years.. The offence is alleged to have been committed at Wellington on .February 6. . Richard Hastedt was ordered to pay 7s. per week towards the support of his child. - ■ .
Alexander Johnson was ordered to pay 7s. per week towards tho support of an illegitimate child. Defendant was also ordered to pay solicitor's fee, Jills. Two first offenders on charges of insobriety were fined 10s. each, and a-third offender .was convicted and discharged.
