A regrettable incident, occurred at tho Lord Mayor's reception to the Japanese Admiral and officers. While tho Japanese National Anthem was being played on the Town Hall organ, a chorus from the opera "The Mikado," which is most objectionable to Japanese, slipped in acci-' dentally in the form of a march between two of tho anthem movements. It was evident that the Admiral was displeased. The Lord Mayor is writing to him expressing regret at the unintentional affront.
