Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB.

'The Initial meeting of tlip T.M.C.A. Old Boys' Club for the new year was held on Thursday, the general. secretary (Mr. A. Vnrney) presiding. The meeting took the: form of a general discussion on the coming winter's work, and all wero most enthusiastic about the crospects for a successful year. A sub-committee of Messrs. E. Phillips, H. Lay, R. Coad, and the lon. (secretary (Mr. B. Mabin) was appointed to go into the question of leaders for the following clubs and committees to be' formed filmost immediately:— Religious, Educational, Debating, Shakespeare, Harriers, Orchestra, Rambling, Indoor Games, Boring, and Rugby Football. Mr.'P. C. Atkinson, late chairman of the club, who. is now stationed m Christchurch, has organised a similar group of enthusiastic young men m that city whew &• successful, initial concert was held last Wednesday, over 300 be-, ing present. A visit to Wellington from this club is to, be paid. atEasterT The first concert ortho club will take place in May and it is sueccstcd that a bazaar be hold a few months later. • Messrs. T. Spurdle and M. Hodge were appointed representatives on the third and fourth floors,*to link up all' boarders between 18 and 21 years, who. mako tlieir homo 'in tho building. Ten new-members h'avo already ioined and a similar 1 number pledped themselves:; to obtain five new members each, beforo'Marcli, bringing the membc-rsliin to 100. Earlv in the season the general secretary will commenco a series of twelve talks on Tennyson's "idylls of tho King." Next Thursday, Mr: Jameson, M.A.,. national secretory, will spenk. After the address the,members will be entertained at a granvanhono 'nriterlninment, by one of the boarders.
