Members of the Highland Rifle. Club will fire a practice match under service conditions at Trentham to-day. Ou tho following Saturday the, first annual match with tho Petone Riflb Club will be fired on the latter's privato range at Waiwetu. . THE N.Z. MEETING. The chairman of the New' Zealand Rifle Clubs', executive, President H. Marshall (Karori Riflo Club), has received from Mr. C. A. Whitney, of-tho Colonial Ammunition Company, Ltd., Auckland, a valuable trophy, to be awarded to the riflo club man making tho highest score in tho C.A.C. Cup match at the next Trentham meeting. This event is the long.range teams' matcn. The trophy consists of a. .303' Winchester .sporting' rifle and 250 rounds of C.A.C. soft-nose cartridges, This ' further evidence of Mr. Whitney s generous support of rifle clubs is appreciated by rifle shots, and will induce Keen competition.
