DEATH OF CONSTABLE DOYLE, A I(AN ARRESTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) ' Palmcrston North, February 5. Constable Doylo,. who was admitted to tho PnlnicrsUm Hospital on Monday, suffering from a broken leg and facial abrasions, tho result of an assault made upon him at Shannon last Saturday, died at 5.30 this iriorning. Deceased was not altogether a strong man, and ho was oif sick leave for n time last September. 110 was about 35 jrears of age, and married. Ho leaves a widow ana two children, who rcsido in Auckland. A man named M'Don aid was arrested on Monday, and remanded yesterday for a week. A BOY'S DEATH. (By Tclcjraph.—Pross Association.) Duncdin, Fobruary 5. At tho inquest on tho body of Cecil Robert Randall, who died from haemorrhage of the brain on Tuesday morning, tho evidence showed that deceased and a cousin named, Duncan M'Gillvray, aged 14 years, were playing on Sunday. M'Gillvray threw a stono at a fowl, and hit deceased by mistake. Deoeasod became ill next Monday, and when tho doctor called was unconscious. An operation was performed as soon as possible, but the lad, never regained consciousness. A verdict of accidental death was returned. HUNTLY FATALITY. ' Auckland, February 5. At the inquest to-day on Samuel Dodcn, who was killed at Iluntly yesterday by a fall from a bridge, the evidence showed that of tho brain resulted, and that the fall into the water in an unconscious condition was the Cause of death. A verdict of-accidental death was returned. The 6treniious life ofto-day renders Accident and Sickness Insurance no longer a luxury but a necessity.
