GORDON & PICNIC.
Tho sixth annual picnic of the ■Welling-' ton staff of Gordon and Gotch Proprietary, Limited, was held at the Trenthom rnqecourse on Saturday, in delightful weather. There was. a full attendance of employees, and a ; very successful outing resulted. Athletic sports wero held during the morning,' and there wero also i;nmes, etc., m the afternoon. The following are the results of the athletic events :-Gordon and Gotch handicap/100 yards; first prize silver cup, presented by Mr. W. E. Jackson, to beheld by the winner for 12jnonth's: A. M'Gill, li N. Stevens, 2; ,T, F. Daley, 3 Siii"lc ladies' handicap: Miss htewart, 1: Miss Chittey, 2. Married men's race: H'. E. Fither, 1; J. F. Dotteridge, 2. Boys race: G. Davies, 1; A. M'Kinloy. 2.,' 830 yards handicap: C. Browrhton. !; A. Bennett and A. M'Gill, dead heat, for second place. Needle and thread race: Miss Chittey and C.Sims, l;; Miss Henderson and II Hatch, 2. Sack race: A. L. Ballard, 1; N Hassall, 2. Ladies' sack race: Miss 'Stewart; 1; Miss'.Gaudio, 2. Three-legged race: C. Pratt and F. J. Dotteridge, 1; natch and Hassall, 2.
