MASTERTON NOTES.
(By Telegraph,—Speoial Correspondent.) Masterton,, February 1. Quite abnormal has been the growth of cocksfoot grass in'the Masterton district this season. Tho seed haryested is bright and clean; and free from noxious weeds. A keen demand for Wairarapa cocksfoot seed has set in from various parts of tho Dominion. • i, ■ ■ At the quarterly meeting of the Masterton Cemetery Trustees, held yesterday, Mr. Edwin Feist was re-elected chairman' for the ensuing year. Wairarapa breeders obtained fairly satisfactory prices for rams offered by them at the Hastings fair this week. Tho average prices, however, .were not as high as those of last year. At a meeting of the Masterton Horticultural Society last evening it. was decided that the new show bo held on Wednesday, February 26. . The district coroner has brought the oiroumstances of the death'of-a, Native «t Greytown under tho notice of the Minister for Justice and tho Native Minister. Mr. J. W. Cunningham has sold his property, at Te Roto, Bideford, to Mr. E. W. Bunny, manager of Glenburn.
