. 'AT OTIR-A AND LAKE COLERIDGE. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) . Christchurch, February 2. Tho Hon. W. Fraser, Minister for Public Works, spent Saturday morning 'in receiving callers on publio business and in transacting Departmental' business. Mr. Fraser, accompanied by Mr. H. Dickson, resident engineer and tho contractor and foreman of works, thon went over tho now Government Buildings, which are being erected'in Worcester Street; 1 In tho course of an interview, Mr, Fraser remarked that tho building, wheu oompleted, would bo an ornament to tho city. The contractors expect to finislr it in three or four months.
.'Referring to the tunnel contract, in connection with the Lake Coleridge hydroelectrical scheme, Mr.. Eraser said - that nothing had been decided as to determining the contract, but a decision'would bo arrived at when ho got back to Wellington. The Minister added that work was (procooding at Arthur's Pass tunnel under the Publio Works Department, pending .details being arranged for the calling , fbr fresh .tenders. . , >
Mr. FVaser left,in tho evening for Wellington, and he expects to stay there again for more than a week, when, he will come south again to, visit Inyercargill and the Catlins district; In March tho Ministor visits Gisborne, Whangarei, and tho Bay of Islands, and if time will permit he may visit tho West Coast of th« South Island beforo ho goes to Gisborne;
