Dr. Sprott, Bishop of Wellington, leaves for Auckland to-morrow to officiate at the men's Lenten services in that city. His Honour the Chief Justico (Sir Robert Stout) leaves for Invereargill this evening. . Changes in connoction with tho Roman Catholio- clergy of the archdioceso of Wellington, othor than those' alreadv announced, are as follow The late' Father Vouning's place at Hill Street to be filled by tho ltev. Father W. Tymons, S.M.,' late of Greenmoadows College, Napier; the Rev. Father W. Goggan, S.M., Nelson, and late of St. Patrick's College, has been appointed parish priest at Meanee, llawko's Bay, replacing tho late Dean Grogan. On severing 1 bis connection with the Standard Insuranco Company to join the staff of tho South British Company in the capacity of inspector, Mr. Noel Broad lvas on Friday made tho recipient of tokens of esteem and good wishes from tho staff of the former company. Thompson, of tho public service in Wellington, haw been successful in completing their professional accountancy examinations last Novembor, thereby qualifying for their A.I.A.N.Z, diplomas, 'i'hey passed in tho whole of nine subjects in two years, tho minimum time. Mr. D. Milligan returned to Wellington yesterday after a holiday at Hanmer and Christchurch. , Mr. and Mrs. A. Poole, of Brisbane, are visitors to Wellington. Mr. John M'Eldowney, who is to act as permanent Home buyer for tho firm of M'Eldowney Bros., warehousemen, has left for England. Prior to his departure tho staff presented him with a travelling bag. . Mr. P. It. Stewart, irho has filled tho position of goods foreman at tl"> railway yards for tho past 13 years, and who is now under orders to transfer to Pallucrston North, was entertained on Saturday evening by tho staff at tho Sooial Hall, Lainbton, and presented by Mr. Mellor, good# agent, with a gold watoh and chain.
