FITZROY MURDER CHARGE. THE ONLY EVIDENCE.. Hy TeloeraDh-Preaa Aeioclatlbn-Copyrlshl (Rec' January SO, 11,20 p.m.) Melbourne, January 30. Harold Thompson, the labourer, aged 34, arrested on January 13 and charged with the murder of Mr. A/ H. /Trotter. Übo was shot by burglars in his bedroom at Fitzror on January 7, has been committed for trial. Bail was refused.

Mrs. Trotter, in her evidence at the ■ ihqucst, declared both tho burglars in the room'appeared to bo slim. One was taller than tho other, and the voice of the taller .seemed tt boyish voice breaking into manhood. Thompson's voice did not appear tho same; as it was the gruff and lowtoned voice of a man. Thompson did not seem • elim-built to her. The coat worn by tho, taller man was striped something like the one produced, and a felt hat produced was something'like the one worn by the: taller burglar. Nobody to • her knowledgo knew where her husband kopt his money. She went at'once to see Thompson on his arrest, but was unable .to'identify him. . . |- The evidence against Thompson consisted of a finger-print on the window-sill, of a back window.. An expert stated that the characteristics' agreed with those of Thompson's fingers.. , .
