Recently (he Southland Education Board .decidcd to odd elementary agriculture to the list of subjects to be taught during school hours in schools where such classes can be efficiently couductcd. The :.)vork undertaken by pupils in Standards I\ , V, and VI, will -bo somewhat on the following lines(l) Principles oftillage - hud source, composition and ufec of ■ fertilised;, (2) propagation of apple, pear, , pluiu, pqach, apricot, and rose stocks; .(3) grafting, budding, and layering} (-1) rotation, of crops; (5) grasses; (6) grain kinds best.suited to different soils.
