PLIMMERTON.

_ Sir,—As a visitor and occasional resident in the 6teadily-inoreasing seaside town of Plimmerton, plight I draw the attention of the local body responsible to the urgent need of a echemo .of sanitation? Last year thero was a local man who under, took, and, /as many can' testify, faithfully carried out, the cleaning of latrines, This year, apparently, a change has been made, and seemingly no one is unless as'a favour. It is time a-public meeting was held to consider the question, and to urge on the authorities the necessity of the institution of some effective! system. With an increase, it ia reported, of nearly 60 per cent, in the resident population last year, tho matter is one of. real urgency. - . ; On Sunday, two boarders at' a boardinghousewere carting water- This evidently is a question that will demand attention in the near- future. Plimmerton is rapidly growing in popularity, There is, too, room for very large "growth,, which is almost certain to follow the speedingup of tho train services to town. It is to be hoped that something will be done soon, and that matters will not be left, as is the case with , many growing towns throughont Now Zealand, until perhaps an outbreak of some disease forces a change.—l am, etc., . '" ' INTERESTED.
