NEWCASTLE MINING UNREST

OBSTACLE TO SETTLEMENT,

Sydnoy, January 23. The wheelers of tho Burwood mine constitute a barrier to the settlement of the unrest in the northern district.

The Employers' Association has informed the Employees' Federation that as soon as the Burwood mine' resumes, and provided there are no more stoppages, ■ the employers will be prepared to confer with the employees. The wheelers are not members of tho Colliery -Employees' Fed-' eration, and aro thus not controlled by the federation, which is agreeable to tho Burwood mine resuming operations.
