SERIOUSLY MENTIONED,
At a mooting of. the Miramar Borough Council last evening the Mayor (Mr. M'Leod) eaid.that tho Minister for Railways had been approached by deputation and : had also been written to-somo, time ago estimato of the cost of carrying the railway from tftoTo Aro Station to. tho. head of Evans Bay. So far no-information had been received by the. council, and a further Jcttorv was boing addressed to tho' Minister. ■'-,'."
The Mayor v&nt on to say that, owing to tho fact that, no information as to the prospect of extending'the railway to tho' district was obtainable, tiro industries had been shifted elsewhere, "If was known," ho 'continued, "that other industries would consider tho question of establishing themselves in the neighbourhood of Miramar if the question of'carrying the railway to the district l werp m active contemplation."
