The statoment made at the Australian Science Congress that the exportation of the skulls of aborigines had been going on at an alarming rate came as a surprise to'the Commonwealth Minister for Customs. Ho had no idea that there was any extensivo traffic of tho kind. It was known to bo in existence two or three years ago, but since such skeletons or parts were placed on the list of prohibited exports tho trade was believed to havo been practically, if not absolutely, extinguished. Mr. Tudor, intimated that he would accept the hint and instruct the collectors in tho various States to tako every precaution to prevent tho law being defied. • ■ '
