Plainlilf alleged that during August, 101?, defendant employed three building labourers on suburban work, and failed to pay them travelling time or tram fares.' The facts, which were admitted, were to tho effect that the work was'near tlie Sentoun tunnel, which was three-quar.ters of a mile' boyond the two-mile radius, But the men employed were living beyond the radius, and less than two miles from the work. Mr. R. Kennedy appeared for defendant, M'Millau. His Worship reserved decision.

Wirilinna Hunia, an aboriginal Native of Wellington, brought an action against Gray Phillips, licensed Native interpreter, of Levin, to recover 2s. Cd., made up of various sums, said to be money advanced and lent by the plaintiff to the defendant. Mr. M'Grath appeared for plaintiff and Mr. Holmden for the defendant. ' ■James' -Palmer, alias Mason, ,vns charged with having, on Januarv 20, walked on board a ship and stoion a watch and chain from the pockets of a coat and vest belonging to Frank Dyer. When the owner accused Palmer and demanded his property back, Palmer gave them up. Ho pleaded guilty, and (in.vitv of former convictions) he was sentenced (o three months' imprisoanwht. Robert Parkes pleaded guilty to using certain language. He was fined £3, in default one month's imprisonment; Francis Small came before the Court upon a chnrgo of insobriety, and was fined 105.,. in default forty-eight hours in prison. On a further charge of indecency, lie was ordered to pay £2 or undergo fourteen days' imprisonment. John Thompson, who' -was charged with insobriety, and the assault of Ledestm de Clifford on the Lambton Railway Station, pleaded guilty, Ho was fined 10s., or 48 hours on. the first count, arid £2 or seven days on the second. Ho -was nlso ordered to pay 10s. court costs. Mr. Rotheriberg appeared for accused. Herbert - Wallace, alias Herbert Warman, alias E. Warman, and Thomas Adams, were charged with having, on January 8.-at-Auckland, assaulted-.George Anderson, a farmer, and robbed hiin of £2 in money, a keyless bunting watch, and rolled. gold chain, and a'-.bank slip, on the Bank of New Zealand at Auckland for £148; They-were remanded to appear i at Auckland oh.the 22nd.
