Eegatta Committee in connection with* tho regatta to, bo held on January 22,' was■'.; hold on Thursday, evening, and was. presided over by tho Mayor of Pctono (Mr. -~ J. W> .M'Ewan). Reports were received from the, various sub-committees, , and everything points to'.a' successful gathering. Miss Arthur, secretary of tho Ladies' SoogulL Swiminiug Club,, wrote; stating that its members would bo cuter- ■■ ing in a number of' the aquatic events. A l>and will bo in attendance 'during tho day. The programme, which was ; approved; includes yacht racos,' swimming,; and children's sports, and adult land events/ It. was resolved that the Ferry Company bo asked to run a service during tho,day.
