EARLY SETTLERS' REUNION.

Anniversary Day (January 22) Is to be celebrated this year by the, Early Settlers' Association in a manner very appropriate to the day. They-are to hold a reunion of early settlers and their/descendants at Newtown Park, tho gathering, to tako the form of ah all-day picnic, with a programmo of old-fashioned sports in' the' afternoon, whoh all games and sports that' wore in vogue in the early forties, will once again bo. revived. In addition to this there will bo games and Bports for the children and amusing sideshows, and, last, but not least, two great baby shows, one for girls under one year of ago, and a similar one for boys. It is hoped that many grandchildren and great grandchildren of our early pioneers will bo represented. A number of children, under tho direction of Miss Bland, will give an exhibition of: maypolo dancing, whilo suitable music will bo provided during the day by Jupp's Band. Air together, a more delightful day's enjoyment than a May spent at Newtown Park, with its charming surroundings nod its interesting adjunct, tho Zoological Garens, would bo hard to get. Holiday excursion rates on tho railways aro advertised, and many of our old pioneers who havo mado their homes in tho country districts aro expected to bo present at tho reunion,
