January 14. . ■An important combination comprising' Eltham, Mangatoki, Normanby, and Opunake dairy factories has been effected for the purpose of acquiring and carrying on tho bacon-curing business hitherto conducted bv the Eltham and Mangatoki factories. The capital is 4230,000. Otherfactories are expected to join the combination. This is looked upon as tliemost important movement by farmers iri-.th* district.
