Tho Anglican' Archbishop of Melbourne (Dr. Clarke) is to leave on ft trip to England on, January 17. While away ho will take the opportunity of studying tho questions affootmg tho connection of the Church in Australia with tho Cliurbh in tho Old Country, and endeavour to find a way of scouring autonomy without risking tho communion botweon them. ■

Mr. Thomas Hunt Ivoy, assistant general manager and chief inspector of tho Bank of New South Wales, was lost week presented with an illuminated address and silver plate, on the occasion of his retirement on pension from the Service of th© bank. Mr. Irey joined the bank in Melbourne in 18G2, and filled various positions at Gcelong, Ballarat, Duuedin, Hamilton, and Wellington (New Zealand), and was malinger of tiio Auckland branch for 18 years. lii 1889 ho was transferred to the head office as ntinngcr, and remained so until appointed assist-ant-general manager and chiof inspector ill 1908.
