Heatherbrae was first away,- and made all the early running from Admiral Soult and Dido. At the cutting Jolie Fille had taken third place, and thus they ran to the straight entrance. At the Btrnight entrance Culprit was steadied, and the field closed up._ At half the distance Overtime, Culnrit, Jack Delaval, Tact, and Crown Pearl were almost in line, Potoa, who had come from a long ,way back, being a head off the remaining horses. A great race to the post resulted in a win for Potoa by a head, with a neck between second and third, and heads only separating Jack Delaval, Overtime, and Crown PearL Time, lmin. 14 AUCKLAND PLATE, of 500 hots.
