YOUTH IN TROUBLE. : Harold Frederick James, 19 years of age, appeared on'three charges of theft. .He was charged with having stolen a silver watch from George Woods on December 31; a match-box and 17s. 2d. in money from Frederick Jones on December 81, and a suit of clothes and a: belt from John Leeney on December 30. ~ '' He elected to be tried by a jury,; and. was accordingly remanded till January 8. ' ASSAULT AND ROBBERY ALLEGED. John Condon, Thomas Donovan, aud William Henry Adorns were charged with having assaulted John Gray on December/ 26, and robbed him of 7s. in money, 3. watches,' and 2 gold chains, of the total value of £16. -.■'..-..'. The accused were remanded till January 8. Adams was allowed bail (£100). OTHER CASES. . Henry Jens Groth was remanded till January 8 on n charge of having failed to provide for his wife. Bail (£SO) was allowed. ..■'■■ Lilian Jukes, who escaped from the Salvation Army Home on Monday last, was ordered to return to the institution. On charges of insobriety, Ada Edwards and Michael Malone were remanded till January 8 for'curative treatment.
