AUCKLAND R. C. MEETING. - BOBRIKOFF'S FEAT, BREAKS NEW ZEALAND RECORD. SUMMER CUP. LABOUR DAT OUT IN FRONT.. (By Telegraph.—Preso Association.) Auckland, December 30. The weather was perfect for the second day of the Auckland B.C. summer meeting. The attendance, for an off-day, was very satisfactory, about 14,000 people being present. The course was in capital condition, and during the day fast times were registered. In the Islington Plate Bobrikoff, running the mile in lmin. 38 4-ssec., created a New Zealand record. The horse and rider were loudly cheered on returning to the scale. At the conclusion of the Hurdle Race the connections of Golden Loop were called before the stewards to explain the horse's running on the opening day. A satisfactory explanation was given, and the' judge's ruling was allowed to stand. Speculation was again briskj the machine handling £38,982 10s., as against £33,555 10s.. for tho corresponding day last year. Results:— ... BOWEN HANDICAP, of 125 sovs. Ap. prentice riders.
