\ DEMONSTRATION AT PRETORIA. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Cape Town, December 29. A demonstration has been Held at Pretoria in support of General Hertzog (who reoently resigned from the South African Cabinet) and General De Wet. • Various speakers at the demonstration declared that General Hertzog had been the only representative of the people in the .Cabinet. General: De Wet 'spoke from a manure heap. He said he preferred to be thero with the people than on the most brilliant platform with foreigners. Those taking part in the demonstration then proceeded to General Hertzog's house. General Hertzog, in aspeech, apologised for his thoughtless references to the Imperialism' of Sir Thomas Smartfc, Leader of the Opposition.
