HITCH IN'THE TOURNAMENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.). Christchurch, December 30. The annual croquet tournament, promoted by the Canterbury. Association, was. continued-'to-day in 'fine weather. Through a. technicality, H. A. Penn, who won the Canterbury championship, lias had to surrender tile title. As the regulations require that, to lie an "associate," a .player ipust live in Canterbury Province v as well as be a'member of the Canterbury Club, the Tournament Committee were compelled to disqualify Penn in this event.' Results:— ' Final of the New Zealand Ladies' Championship—Mrs. Lill (S.) beat Miss Limbriclc (Waipawa). Final of the Canterbury Handicap—F. S. . Maddison (United), two bisques, beat S. S. Blackburn® (United) scratch. The tournament concludes to-morrow.
