HAWTCE'S BAT CHAMPIONSHIPS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Hastings, December 26. A sports masting organised by the Hawke's Bay Motor Cycle Club was held on the racecourse to-day in. the presence .of about 1580 spectators. The races proved very exciting, and tho speed attained, about CO miles per hour, was as much evidence of.the great skill of the riders as of the speed capacities,of their mounts. Tho track is about a. mile in circumference, but being perfectly flat, requires the utmost care at the corners. The seven-mile championship of Hnwke s Bay was won by T. ~0. Richmond, in Bmm. 31sec. '

The twenty-mile championship was won by.N. S. Hyslop.iu 22min. SOsec.
