THEFT IN BANK.
NOTES SNATCHED FROM CLERK'S ' HAND. Ibr Teleeraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. December 25, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, December 25. An official in the State Savings Bank had counted .£l5O, consisting of a .£IOO note and five .£lO notes, and then turned round. A hand was immediately stretched over the oountor, and the notes were seized; The incident occurred : at the busiest period of the day, and.the bank was .crowded. It is not known whether the perpetrator left at once, or mixed with tho throng:
