EVICTION OF LORD DENMAN.
LAW SUIT TO PROCEED. By Taleeraph—Pr«e! Aesaoitrtion—Copyrlfffct (Bee. December 25, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, December 25. The State Attorney-General, Mr. Holman, has decided to allow the applica-' tioii for an injunction in connection with the resumption of Government House to proceed. The information has been amended, and relators now allege that the. land .in 'question was reserved definitely as a residence for the State Governor. A curious position is thus created, inasmuch as if the. informants win, they will apparently exclude the Governor-General, Lord Denman, and his successors definitely from the use of this residence, and it will be the Government's duty to instal the State Governor there. . , ■ " LONDON COMMENT. London, December E3. Mr. Elliott Johnson, a former member of the New South Wales Parliament, replying to the "Westminster Gazetto's" oomments on Lord Denman's eviction from Sydney ' Government Hons}, states that in Now South Wales public feeling is . entirely. adverse to the Government's action. He declares that Mr. Holman is primarily responsible, as he. took„ the initiative while Mr. M'Gowen was in' London.
