Mr. J. M'lntyre, headmaster of the Lsvin High School, has completed his twenty-first year of continuous 'service. The late Mr. John Saxon, who died on Friday, was born in Somersetshire in 1E37, and was educated at tho Edward VI. Grammar School, Brnton. He came to New Zealand in the Maori in 1853, acting for a time on arrival as a surveyor. He took lip lojid at Feilding, was a member of tho Manawatu Road Board and Hospital Board, and took an active interest in the formation of the Manawatu A. and P. Association. He married a daughter of the late Major Horniman, of Nelson, and formerly .captain in the Hon. Artillery Company, London. . Mr. Martin Winiata, tho well-known representative footballer, in 81 hours shore 22G crossbred sheep—a very creditable performance. No fewer than tbree operations were performed in the local hospital yesterday.
