POISONED BY POST.
A BRISBANE TRAGEDY. ■By Telegraph—Prcea Association—Oopyrleht (Heo. December 20, 8.55 p.m.) Brisbane, December SO. At the inquiry into the death in October lost of Miss Zillman, who died in groat agony after eating some chocolates sho had received by post, one of tho doctors stated in evidence that there were no very marked symptoms of poisoning. Another doctor deposed that there were several characteristics of strychnino poisoning in evidence.. . iUrs. Peterson, who recovered after eating some of the poisoned chocolates, deposed that the packages which Miss Zillmau received by post included one from a Mrs. Walker, a former housekeeper. A man named Burgess, to whom Miss Zillman had bc-eu engaged to marry, deposed to tho posting of letters and a parcel to Miss Zillmat, but denied having sent tho chocolates. Ho admitted to certain relations with Mrs.' Walker, promising -to marry hor if her husband died or got a divorce. After their separation, Mrs. Walker enid she would leavo him free to marry, as it would not bo fair to ask him to wait. She seemed pleased to hear that he was. engaged to Miss Zillman. .
