GALWAY AND HALIFAX.
■ NEW ATLANTIC ROUTE. ■ Considerable interest has been displayed. in Canada in Mr. Borden's scheme to establish a tlir<?e-and*a-h a]f-dav steamship route between Halifax and G-nlway. In an interview with Mr;- Robert' Worthington, a Dublin contractor, who< is visiting Ottawa, a press representative learnt that he was interested in the scheme. Mr. Wprthington had a long interview with the Premier,'explaining the project, when Mr. Borden said he would lay the matter before his colleagues. " The project includes a plan to establish a "car ferry" across the Irish Channel, and utilise the existing railways to Galway, as a terminus. This would put the distance between Halifax and Galway at 1256 miles, while Halifax and Liverpool arp 2440 miles apart. , Mr. Worthington. is arranging for a Electing of the Dominion Cabinet with an Irish committee which has 'seen appointed to further the project. From Ottawa. Mr. Worthington goes to Detroit and Port Huron, Michigan, to -investigate the ear ferry services across the St. Clair River.
