ARRANGEMENTS AT THE G.P.O. The following hours. will be observed at the G.P.O. on Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 2G: — Wednesday (Christmas Day).—9.3o to 10 a.m.; 5 p.m. to 1 5.30 p.m. Thursday (Boxing Day).—9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; 7 p.m. to midnight. The telephoue exchange will be open continuously. • Yt'e are asked to conTey to the public through a suggestion by the G.P.O. that it will greatly lighten the burden and ensure prompt receipt of messages if "Greeting" telegrams are presented early on December 23 and December 24. Generally the public delays sending these messages until the dny before Christmas Day*. Consequently Hie Mails Department is extraordinarily busy, necessitating a large staff working throughout the night to clear off the accumulation.
