' ANNUAL MEETING. (Br Teleiraph.—Proas Association.) Palmerston North, December 20. The annual meeting of, the National Sweet Pea Society of New Zealand, which was held to-night, and was attended'by representatives irom Hawera, Porirua, ilasterton, the Hutt, and Wellington, carried unanimously the following, resolution: That the annual show be neld in a different centro each year. During the discussion Auckland and -Wellington were chiefly mentioned, with a strong leaning towards Wellington for nest year for the special convenience of Nelson and Blenhoim. The executive committee irill decide the matter. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Lord Liverpool to bo invited to accept the position; president, Mr. J. B. Harcouvt (Wellington); vice-presidents, Messrs. H. Brett (Auckland) and Trevithick (Wellington); council, Mrs. E. C. Brown (Epsom), Messrs.' Plummer and Clayton (Auckland), J. J. Kerslako and Fox (Wellington), Chas. Goodson (Ha : wera), C. Reader (Stratford), Mr. F. J. Nathan and Mrs. Lionel Abraham (Palmerston), Mr. Sellars and Mts. Wood (Wairarapa), Messrs. J. H. Murdoch (Napier), F. Penn (Otaki), Holder (Porirua), P. E. Hamilton and B. Pascal (Nelson); secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. C. Lane (Palmerston North). PALMERSTON SHOW. Palmerston North, December 20. The New Zealand Sweet Pea Show opened to-day. There was a good display. Mr. G. C. Holder (Porirua) wins the "Graphic" trophy and the Palmerston trophy tf 25 guineas eacli, and the Sydenham trophy , 5 guineas, Mrs. 1. C. Williamson (Palmerston), the New Zealand championship cup of 30 guineas, »nd Miss M'Lennan (Palmerston) the Xates trophy of ten guineas.

The repertoire of the New Comic Opera Company, which commenees a tour of New Zealand at Auckland on Monday evening, includes "The Girl in the Tram, "Nigh.tbirds," "Dorothy," and The Cmgalee." Mr. Charles Berkeley will travel ahead of tho company.
