THE MARCONI INQUIRY.
AUSTRALIAN SYSTEM TO BE REPORTED ON. By Tolecraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. December 19, 7- p.m.) London, December 19. Sir George Reid (High Commissioner for Australia), when completing evidence before the Parliamentary Committee appointed to inquire into the wirelew contract between tho General Post Office and the Marconi Company, promised to ■ obtain information as to whether tho Australian system had bean tested over two thousand miles, and to report to the committee.
SIR HENRY NORMAN'S VIEWS. (Bee. December 19, 8.30 p.m.) London, December 19. Sir Henry Norman, M.P., formerly Assistant Postmaster-General (1910), gave evidence. He said that ho was opposed to the ratification of the agreemont as being contrary to Hie public interest, and preluding something in the nature of a monopoly. Moreover, he sakl.such an agreement waa unnecessary in order to ensure a chain of Imperial wireless stations.
