The. local office : of the Union Company wore advised that the vessel cleared the northern port at- 5 a.m. yesterday. Ihe is due here to-morrow, aad eailis tlic same day for Dunediu direct.
The Navua will leave Wellington with territorials and radots on December 24, and not December 23, os previously announced.
MABABOA RUNS EXCURSION. Weather and other circumstances permitting, the ferry steamer Mararoa. will run an excursion from Wellington to Picton and back on Thursday, December 26- (Boxing Day). She will leave the Queen's Wharf at 7.30 a.m., and wdll leave Pioton on- the return trip at 3 p.m. '
The brigantine Eachael Cohen arrived at Wellington from Lyttelton yesterday morning. The little sailer left the southern port last Thursday, and. had light variable winds up the coast. On arrival off Wellington Heads on Tuesday a strong head wind was encountered, and the "Raohael" nan across to Cloudy Bay. - After taking in atores, etc., the Bachael sails for the Macquarie Islands. :
The Shaw-Savill steamer Karamca left Dungdiui a.t 7 p.m. to complete Homeward loading at Wellington. Tho cable steamer Petrol, which has completed her cruise of inspection between New Zealand and Australiaj will be docked at Sydney, and after coaling will return to Singapore. \
The annual- contract for the Bupply of steam coals for the Ounard Steamship Line at Liverpool has this yea.r been eecured by tho Carlton Main Colliery ta South Yorkshire. The amount ie stated to be 220,000 tons,- and not a- quarter of a million, as is usually the caso. Althouga the price at which tho contract hns been. fixed has not transpired, it, is understood that it is in the vicinity of 10k. 6d. por ton at the pits. The coal is South Yorkshire washed steams, and it has to be delivered from January to December, 1913. The Union Company's Kaiapoi is expected to leave Sydney for Newcastle onSatorday. ■ She' loads at tho latter port for Napier. . . •
