Rumours arc again current of the At-torney-General's (Mr. Holman) pending retirement from politics. , His opposition to the referenda proposals is said to be causing trouble. Three candidates are in the field for the Bkyney seat. The campaign already promises to be warm, and will produce some linen-wash-ing. PORTFOLIOS REARRANGED. NO SUCCESSOR TO MR, BEEBY. (Rcc. December 18, 9.45 p.m.) Sydney, December 18. The Labour Caucus has decided not to appoint a successor to Mr. G. S. Beeby. Mr. ■A. C. Carmichael (Minister for Public; Instruction) administers the Departments of Labour and Industry, and Mr. J. L. Trelle (Agriculture), assumes the portfolio of Lands.
