CARNIVAL OF "TUG."
—— ft-r— —— CHBISTCHUEGH'-'WINNERS COMING. • Mr. Geoffrey Nye, manager of tho big Ttig-of-War Carnival, to be held in. tha .Town-Hall at Christmas,-has .been.advised, that the winners of tho Christchurch tug-of-war carnival will compete in Welling-ton-hi the "all-comers'" championship. The team is said to be n very powerful one which should give all. contestants a. hearty "go".for tho big money here. The entries received have been very satisfactory,. and the event is likely to produce much excitement when tho men of brawn and brains" get into holts on the tug platform at the Town Hall. The management (Hayward's Enterprises, Ltd.) have arranged that there shall' be no waiting between the pulls. As soon as one pull is over, and the winners, ore declared, a moving picture will be flashed on tho screen, to entertain, amuse, or instruct whilst the nest teams are preparing for the fray. Tlie gold, medals for the winning teams may now be seen in Armit's Lambton Quay, T. Shields, Willis Street, and O'Donnell and Brown's, Manners Street.
