No changes have been made in the original arraiigtinciits for'thc reception of tho new Governor, Lord Liverpool, in Wellington to-morrow. Tli e Chirf Magistrato will meet his Excellency at the gates of tho city—Thorndon Railway Station—and the Governor will then proceed to the reffdecce. ' The hour fixwl for the fiwenriiig-m ceremony is three o'clock, and at that time his Excellency will drive to Government Buildings. It is possible that the arrangement for a divided welcome trill d-t'tract from the spontaneity of the demonstration, to boiso extent. Tho welcome is, of course, tho first wnlcon:.?, and thu public may so regard it, but the real demonstration is in-Icr.dc-d to be at tho Government Buildin.;r,s more than two. hours later.
The Government Buildings will bo cloc-od from .noon to-morrow.
The Mayor has invited business people to close their establishments from 12 noon on Thursday^
