AUSTRALIAN ELEVEN. ' Mil, CROUCH'S REPORT. Regarding tho Australian Eleven and 'the Board of Control meeting the Sydney "Referee" says:— Mr. Couch, in his report, stated that: "Tho conduct of the team on the whole was good, but from experience gained during the recent tour, 1 teel it absolutely necessary, in the interest of Australian cricket, to say that it is my firm opinion that in the selection of future teams to visit England or, South Africa, qualifications of the candidates other than individual cricket ability should be weighed. There were members of the team with whom it was difficult to work, and an element of this nature is detrimental to the whole side. Further, I would remind 'you that tho members of the Australian Eleven come prominently before the public eyo while they aro in England, and from a national point of view, it is desirable that you shall send men who will realise tho -rcsponsibilitios of their position, and be a credit to their country." Having discussed Mr. Crouch's lvpor't, the Board passed a heartyjvote of. thanks to him, and appointed a/sub-coniniittce, consisting of Messrs. E. E. Bean, "\V. P. M'Elhone, Foxton, G. -M.
