The Nairnshire is expected to get away from Auckland for Wellington next Friday. She is due in port on December ZZ, and sails for Lyttelton, Dunedin, and. the Bluff on December 28. At the last-men-tioned port discharge of Liverpool, cargo wiU be completed. Homeward loading will bo commenced at Wanganui. The Nairnshire proceeds thenco to Waitara and Wellington, being due here on January 20. On January 23 she takes her departure for Timaru and Lyttelton, leaving the latter port finally for AvonmoUh on January ai).

NAVUA-TRANSPORT SHIP. . The Union .Company's steamer Nayuo, leaves Auckland for Wellington to-day.. She is duo here on Thursday, December 19, and sails on the same day for Dunedm direct. Leaving the southern port on DocemUM 2-1. the Navua comes back direct to Wellington. She is scheduled to leave hero a,, 8 p.m. on December 23 for Lyttelton. On that trip she will act as transport for territorials and cadets who are intending to bonipeto at the military, competitiomi which are to be held at Christchurch. .The Teasel will convey tho troops back to Wellington on December 28. . TUG. -LYTTELTON SOLD. '■ The sale is reported of tile weU : known tug Lyttelton, which has been purchased by tho Kauri Timber Company, Limited, from the Devonport Steam Ferry Company. The Lyttelton was purchased by the lerry Company some time ago from the Lyttelton Harbour Board. Up to a few weeks, ago she was engaged in towing Tafts of logi) from coastal ports to Auckland, but recently the crew were paid off, and.the Teasel went to an- anchorage in the stream. Tho Lyttelton, although 34, years old, Is still a very useful vessel, and is in splendid condition. .. She is. an iron jaddle ■steamer pf 207 grora tons, built at Birkenhead (England) in 1878. The Lyttelton is to be recommissioned almost unmeaiaufly..iho will be employed in towing rafts to Auckland. TONGARIRO AT MONTE TIDEO. As has been anticipated for some time past, an Inoreasis in wool freights, from A-uistraMa han been decided on. The increased rate came into force, on aU wools ordered out, of stores after Monday last, and will now bo shipped only at 3d- and sd. It is understood that a new rate has been decided on for wheat parcels as from the cud of December, when the. rate will be 30s. net. Tho New Zealand rates for wool are Sd. and 3d. . ~ . The four-masted schooner Jario L. Stanford left Puget Sound, on Wednesday, last with a cargo of 1,2C0,000ft. Oregon pine for Messrs. Hogg and Co., and is due to arrive at Dunedin dbbut the end of February.

The Tyser liner Marere leaves Wanganui for Wellington this evening. She completes Homeward loading, at this port, and sails for London on December 20.

The fofry steamer Duokess will be placed on the Patent Slip for overhaul to-day. The Westport Harbour Board's dredge Eubl Sodden will be .taken up for the same purpose to-morrow. Tho Now Zealand Shipping. Company's Waluinui, which left Wellington .for tho Bouth last evening, completes discharge of Her Montreal cargo at Dunodin. She will then load at Oamaru, Auckland, Tokomaru Bay, Nopior, and Wellington, sailing finally from thde port for London about January 20. It is expected that the New Zoaland Shipping Oomnany's Itiiapehii will be clear of the Wellington portion of her London cargo in time to leave for Lyttclton on Satuirday. It is probable that the Union Company's Mapourilia will make a double trip between Wc3tport and Greymouth during the Christmas holidays. She will leave Greymouth far Westport on Boxing morning, returning the came evening. H.M.S. Torch left Picton for Lyttolton at noon yesterday. The Kumara, which is en route from Montreal to Wellington, is, expected to continue her journey from Sydney to Auckland on December 24. She is due here about January 6.
