The attendance was fair; considering that shearing and harvesting are now in full swing. The' vreather in thb morning, was ideal, thought the heat was a little trying on the young members. In the afternoon members had to contend with a breeze varying from 10 to 20 degrees left, and as long-range shooting wais m progress, there were numerous .misses. The veteran of tho club, ,R. J. King, and his son, H. R. King, both registered a "century" over the shorter.distances. Feist; who wanted a possible' at 600 yds. to perform a similar feat; made a brilliant attempt,. just missing, the/black with his sixth counter. M'Calriioht, ■ with 97 oh and a shot to go, put it on the wrong target, and thus ruined a brilliant score.. '
• At the longer ranges the shooting was a-.little scratchy; there being, however, one or two good individual "shoots." Smith's 32 at 1000-was a really good effort. Jones, who had ,a "quiet chance; missed two shots at IdOOyda,' this being diie to elevation. Hyde also missed a snot here; ■ Of the junior members,. Minton, who is h, "new - chuin" with. tho rifle (this being his secbttd season), shot remarkably well, and seems to be the making of a really good shot. .Young. King is also shooting brilliantly, and.will be.heard of again. He won the club 'championship last' year. Thb best scores were as follow :— 300 500 '600 yds. yds. yds. H'p. Tl. R. J.
