LIFE-SAVING SOCIETY.
A meeting of the Wellington Life-savins Society was held last ovening, Mr. G. S. Hill presiding. The correspondence elicited that the Harbour Board had granted permission for the exhibition of the society's charts in conspicuous places along the waterfront, the City Council having granted similar permission. The secretary reported that the Fire Brigades and Railway Department had been similarly approached, but eo far replied had not yet'.com* to hand. It was also.decided that classes of instruction for the society's nwards bo held everv Friday night at Clyde Quay School, commencing on Friday, December 20. The matter of appointing fresh instructors was left to tho examiners. A team for the Wigram Shield Competition, to be held next February, will be arranged as soon as possible. To create an interest in the society's methods, among school children it was decided to obtain a shield of special design for competition by teams of schoolboys.
