A WEEK'S TRUCE AGREED TO. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, December 16. The new schedule of hours for telegraphists comes into force at 8 o'clock this morning. The men say they will be workins, but will continue the old hours whatever the developments. Messages for New Zoaland will possibly be able to reach La Pcrouse cable station, from whence the Eastern' Extension Company's operators will transmit.

ARBITRATION SOUGHT. Sydney, December 16. At a big meeting of telegraphists it was decided to work under the new schedule for one week, pending representations to the Prime Minister, Mr. Andrew Fisher, with a view to. having the matters in dispute submitted to arbitration at the earliest possible moment.
