We had a brisk Bale, and sold oil lots under the hammer. We quote as follows:—Two-tooth wethers, 13s. 7d.: springing cows, £6 155.; backward cows, £4 -10s.; caws, with ceJvcs, £5 fs.; two-year steers, £4 1&., £5, to £5 35.; threeyear steers, £6;. fat cows, to £6; yearling heifers (small), £2 12s. 6d.; 15-month empty heifers, £3 Is. and £3 25.; forward empty cows, £4.Cs. 6d.; 18-month bulls, £4; threeyear half-draught unbroken gelding, £15 sa. Bidding throughout was not very keen, but most of the yarding was disposed of during the day ao follows:—15-month heifers, £3 45.. 6d. to £3 Bs. 6d.; very choice 15-month Jerseys, £5 75.; 15-month steers, £3 ss. to £3 £*.; two and a half-year steers, coloured, £3 l£s. to £4; ctoTc cows, from £3 10s. to £4 165.; fat cows, from £5 to £6; bulls, up to £5 95.; springing heifers, £5 15s. to £7 12s. td.; small, £4 Ids. to £4 155.; dairy cows, £6 .ISs. to £7 55.; mixed ewes and. lambs, 17s. Gd.; mixed ewes and wethers, 17s. 7rt. On Tuesday, I had a fair yarding in my Strata ford yards, with a fairly representative attendance of buyers. Owing to shearing operations in the back country not many attended from those parts. Bidding opened very, slowly, but improved considerably during the eale, and, with a few exceptions, a very good clearance was made. A big number of bulls were yarded, and sold very readily. Store ami forward cows met with very keen competition; very few springers were yarded-. Prices realised were as follow:—Bulls, from £2 14s. 6d. up to £6 10s., according to weight and quality; 15-month heifers, from .£3 fa. to £3 165.; small store cows, £2 Es. to £3 45.; forward cows, £3 19s. to £5 Is.; fat cows, £5 ss. to £6; empty two and a half-year coloured heifers, £5 Us.; grades, £3 19s. 6d. to £4 ss. 6d.; two and a half-year steers, good. £5; Jerseys, £3 125.; springing heifers, £5 10s. to £5 17s. 6d.; fat-and forward wcthere, 15s. 9d. At Stony Kiver, on Wednesday, December 11, I had a small entry with a good attendance. Competition was not brisk, but laost of the lines woro cleared as fol-low:—15-month steers, £2 15s. to £3 25.; small and bad-coloured, £1 7s. 6d. to £2 2s. 6d.; 15-month grade Jerßey hedfers, £3 15s. 6d. to £4 -35.; grades, £2 IPs. to £3; two-year empty heifers, £4 to £4 55.; fat cows, £5 4s. to £5 ISs.; foTW-ard cows. £3 19s. 6d. to £4 13s. 6d.; small store cows, £2 17s, 6d. to £3 95.; bullß, £2 17s. to £6; cows and calves. £4 6s. 6d.; springing heifers, £4 ss. to £5 12s. 6d.; springing- cows, up to £7 12s. 6d.
