From the report of the Irish Estates Commissioners for the year to March 31 last it appears that since the Land Purchase Act of 1903 came into operation advances amounting in all to .£85,771,519 have- been applied for in respect. of the | sale of 10,229 estates. In the same period the amount of advances actually , made has reached a total of These affect 5505 estates, which have been divided among 140,991 purchasers.
