The report of tho Kauri Timber Company shows a net profit of j£59,519, including .£23,179 brought forward, a total of .£82,698, which is to be appropriated thus: To reserve, .£10,000; dividend ef 9 pfr cent., absorbing .£52,650;' and to bo carried forward, .£20,048. The company may gradually shift its field of operations from New Zealand. Tho report states that in view of the limited opportunities for obtaining further kauri forests in New Zealand, and in pursuance of tho declared policy of extending the life of the company, the directors have purchased the assets of tho West Australian Jarrah Sawmills, and are hopeful the purchases will be a material factor in the desired direction, ■ "■
